Chicagoans have the luxury of being close to one of the greatest summer events that Chicago has to offer, the Taste of River North.
Every summer, the River North Residents Association create Chicago’s tastiest event, presenting guests with savory dishes and ice cold beer from the neighborhood’s best restaurants, live entertainment, kid-friendly activities, and more. This year, the association will be celebrating its 17th year.
Food
This year, guests can look forward to an assortment of cuisines from fifteen River North restaurants.
In particular is Safehouse, a spy-themed restaurant that opened its Chicago doors in 2017. Safehouse offers American cuisine such as “Blacklisted Chicken Tenders,” “Goldfinger Grilled Cheese,” “Prime Rib Timed Drop,” and more. Their burger was recently featured in the Travel Channel’s “Best Unique Hamburgers in the US” list. The restaurant has also been highlighted in a number of prominent media outlets, some of which include Fox News, Chicago Parent, Chicago Magazine, Huffington Post, and even Playboy.
Another favored restaurant that will be in attendance is Maggiano’s Little Italy, a nation-wide Italian-American cuisine offering Italian eats like spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan, lasagna, and more. Maggiano’s planted its roots in Chicago’s River North neighborhood in 1991 and shortly after three different chains opened in various Illinois locations. The restaurant was so well received in Illinois that it is now placed in various cities nationwide.
Other noteworthy restaurants that will be at the event include Fogo De Chao, Pink Taco, Da Lobsta, and more.
Bands and Brew
Attendees can enjoy live entertainment from a number of local bands including Sixteen Candles, Marina City, and Chick Norris amongst many others.
Pair the musical line-up with an ice-cold beer for maximum fun. The Taste of River North has partnered with a Chicagoland distributor, Lakeshore Beverage to bring guests their favorite beers such as Goose Island, Stella Artois, Cayman Jack, and more.
